Setting Dieting Goals

Are you tired of diets where you lose a pound or two a week? No one can possibly stay motivated on a diet that works this slowly, unless you are only trying to lose 5 pounds. Fast weight loss is possible and safe as long as you keep an eye on your nutritional needs.

There are many helpful fast weight loss tips, but this is the most important-Set a goal. Decide how much weight you want to lose in the next two weeks or so. Be realistic, you cannot lose 50 pounds in two weeks, but it is important to have a goal to keep you focused.

Try eating several smaller “power meals” throughout the day. Make then each 200 calories or so, and eat 4-5 per day. Even though you are getting the same number of calories as you would by eating three meals a day, you feel like you are eating all day.

Don’t forget to exercise. Exercise burns calories and keeps you away from the refrigerator. Walk, go the the gym, ride a bike, whatever you can do to get moving.

Decide on several changes to your everyday eating habits and implement them along with dieting. It can be forgoing fast food, switching from soda to water, or simply finding a substitute for butter on vegetables. These changes can continue long after the diet is over, these help your long range goals.
