If your weight is too much, you’re not alone. The 66 percent of adults in the United States is surpassed in weight or obese. Achieving a healthy weight can help control cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar. It can also help prevent weight-related illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and some cancers
Eating too much or not enough physical activity can contribute to overweight. To maintain your weight, calories you eat must equal the energy it consumes. To lose weight, you must eat fewer calories than those consumed. A weight-control strategy includes:

* Select foods low in fat and calories
* Eat smaller portions
* Drink water instead of sugary drinks
* Be physically active

THURSDAY, Feb. 18 (HealthDay News DrTango) – A recent study suggests that isoleucine, an amino acid, could have a lot to do with weight loss.
Japanese researchers fed mice a diet rich in fat (45 percent calories from fat) for six weeks. After the first two weeks, the mice were divided into two groups. Isoleucine One group received drinking water, while the control group received a placebo. This continued for the remainder of the study.
Although caloric intake, dietary and fluid remained unchanged, the mice that received isoleucine gain less weight than the control group from day 17 until the end of the treatment period of 28 days. Mice isoleucine group also had lower concentrations of serum insulin, although there were no differences in levels of glucose, triglycerides or fatty acids.
Researchers also found that the isoleucine improved lowering effects of insulin on glucose, reduced fat deposits and increased metabolism of this.
The findings suggest that isoleucine might be useful for treating obesity, according to the researchers concluded, who called clinical trials to test the hypothesis. (B_jackPete)

Being a vegetarian is a healthy life choices. Even those vegetarians who do not put meat in the dining menu was mentioned to live long and more youthful. But be careful, this diet can also trigger nutritional deficiencies, decreased nerve function and even death.

Vegetarians are people who do not eat meat. vegetarian consists of three types, namely Lacto-ovo vegetarians, those who avoid eating meat but eating or derivative products such as eggs or milk.
The second type is Lacto-vegetarians, those who avoid meat and eggs but no dairy products or margarine. Last type is the Vegans, someone who really only eat foods derived from plants and did not eat meat or its derivative products.

The benefits of being a vegetarian has many proven in several studies, of which can reduce the risk of obesity, heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes and some types of cancer.
In fact, according to Walter Breuning, the oldest in the world, longevity secret that has now reached more than 113 years is a lot of eating vegetables and fruits.

But not always a vegetarian diet can lead to health because the risk of mineral and vitamin deficiencies of protein. “The more limited in a vegetarian diet is protein, vitamins and minerals that come from animal products. For that, intake it should be noted that the body does not lack substance,” is often the lack of protein, iron, zinc, calcium, and substance many others who come from meat, eggs or milk that eventually causes a person’s body resistance decreases.

“For that, the selection of vegetable products must be such so as to meet all nutritional needs, which is fixed with a balanced intake to a source of calories from carbohydrates (staple food), fat (vegetable oil) and of protein (peanut products side dishes),” Although not get animal protein, vegetarians can still get protein from vegetable materials such as nuts, seeds, cereals and is best consumed soy. Soybean is a source of protein with the most complete amino acid that is often dubbed ‘The Proteins Hope of the Future’.

But to watch out for when someone does not eat meat at all is a lack of vitamin B12 can lead to decreased brain function until death. For that, someone who runs a vegetarian diet should be diligent in taking supplements of vitamin B12. If someone decides to become a vegetarian, so do it after passing puberty.

“For health reasons, should be started after the age of puberty because it was the emergence and growth process is complete so that will not interfere with its growth. But if the essence of religion is usually started from the age of the children,”

There are myths about vegetarian diets, are beliefs accepted by a large number of people however have no real basis. El Vegetarianism was first used in 1842 by the founders of the British Vegetarian Association. It comes from the Latin word “vegetus” which means “full, healthy, and vivacious. Began life as a philosophical movement, political activist worldwide. At present, all the vegetarian world, enshrined in the International Vegetarian Union.

1-Myth: A vegetarian diet is healthier than omnivorous or varied diet consisting of meats, fish, carbohydrates, fats.

* The reality is: that vegetarian diets are not all equal, there are variations. Vegetarian diets involve eating no meat, but some are stricter than others, some vegetarian diets exclude all foods animal.

A vegan diet can be dangerous if not replaced or compensated for meat and animal products by others that provide essential nutrients such as vitamins B12 and minerals (like iron, zinc). Following a vegetarian diet is healthier than an omnivorous diet balanced and without excesses.

2 – Myth: People who eat a vegetarian diet are healthier and live longer.

* Reality: Studies show that vegetarians suffer less heart disease, some cancers, hypertension, and diabetes type II, and tend to live longer than people who eat meat in their diet. However it is very likely that this increased life expectancy is partly because of their lifestyle. Consejosandar1 generally have a healthier lifestyle. They usually do not smoke, exercise regularly. Thus their lower incidence of disease and longer life expectancy also likely due to their lifestyle. Not only is that vegetarians exclude meat from their diet, but their lifestyle is healthier habit. People with an omnivorous diet to eat everything in a balanced way, nurture, exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle, can live as long as a person wearing a vegetarian diet.

3 – Myth: Vegetarians suffer more anemia’s

The reality: Iron is an essential mineral for good health may be its lack of broad beans and peas recipe sauce romescuocasionar deficiency anemia. The iron in our body is more easily assimilated into animal flesh, such as red meat. Because vegetarians do not eat these foods is logical to assume they are more prone to iron deficiency anemia. This is a myth, Villagran Nelba nutritionist says many vegetables are rich in iron such as: l as spinach, peas, beans, beet greens and whole potatoes. It is true that are treated worse than iron from meat, but absorption improves when combined with Vitamin C that is very much on the vegetarian diet. Thus in general the levels of iron for vegetarians are within normal values.
